GHRP-2

GHRP-2 is a synthetic hexapeptide and potent ghrelin receptor (GHS-R1a) agonist. It stimulates GH release through both direct pituitary action and by amplifying endogenous GHRH signaling. GHRP-2 also modestly activates ACTH and cortisol pathways.

GHRP-2 produces some of the strongest acute GH pulses among GHRP compounds. At the pituitary level, it directly triggers GH granule exocytosis via phospholipase C/IP3 signaling. At the hypothalamic level, it suppresses somatostatin release, removing the primary inhibitory brake on GH secretion.

Research characterizes GHRP-2 as the most potent GH-stimulating GHRP in terms of peak GH release. Studies document GH peaks 5–10× above baseline. Body composition research shows significant improvements in lean mass and reductions in fat mass with prolonged administration.
