Bacteriostatic Water is sterile water containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol, which prevents bacterial growth and allows multi-use withdrawal from a single vial. It is the standard and recommended reconstitution medium for all research peptides.
Bacteriostatic Water (BW) is sterile water for injection containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol (9mg/mL) as the bacteriostatic preservative. Benzyl alcohol prevents bacterial growth by disrupting bacterial cell membrane integrity and inhibiting metabolic enzyme activity.
Benzyl alcohol is effective against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria at the 0.9% concentration. The pH of bacteriostatic water is typically 4.5–7.0, compatible with most peptide reconstitutions. BW enables multi-use vials to remain sterile between uses — critical for protocols requiring multiple doses from a single reconstituted vial.
BW is the universal standard diluent for research peptides and is the recommended reconstitution medium for all standard peptides including GHRH analogues, GHRPs, GLP-1 agonists, and recovery peptides. Its standardized formulation ensures consistent reconstitution conditions across research protocols.
Store at room temperature (15–25°C) or 2–8°C. Shelf life typically 28 days after first use (multi-dose vial). Discard if particulates, cloudiness, or discoloration appear.
